We are using DOORS 8.0 (installed on a Windows 2003 server) in our office. I want to delete some old projects and modules. However, I got "Deletion of ... failed. Insufficient access" error when I try to delete them even I have RMCDA access on them. None of the modules are shown as locked on the Manage Locks dialog box.
I guess, this issue has started after I deleted some obsolete users from the DOORS DB. Some of these users might have access on those modules.
Anyway I need to remove those modules from the DB. Any suggestions?

Can you login as the "Administrator" user (super user)?
The "Administrator" user should be able to see everything, unlock anything and delete anything.
I use the word "should" because there have been reported rare instances where the "Administrator" user has not been able to do this due to a corruption.

This should be one of those "rare" instances. I cannot delete them even with the Administrator account. I guess there should be a safe method to find and delete their folders in the DOORS DB data folder.

Before monkeying with the database, be sure to have the "Administrator" run the integrity checker, fixing the problems.

I checked the integrity also with the Administrator account and everything seems fine. Unfortunately, no errors reported. The modules have RMCDA access for Everyone. However, it still gives the insufficient access error even for the Administrator.

I hope this is not one or more lock files on the DB server refusing to budge - very rare.
Can you just check and confirm back the following when logged in as the Administrator.
1. There are no locks visible via Tools > Manage Locks, making sure that the Current Folder option is un-checked.
2. The project does not have any exported or imported (not returned) partitions that have been forgotten about (partitions are a property of a project folder).
3. If you can't delete the entire project, try deleting & purging modules one by one until the problem(s) is found.

I realized that the related projects have "not returned" partitions. I returned them and deleted them finally.

Have you run the Integrity Checker tool? Does this raise any issues? You'll need to be logged in as the Administrator to see the option to run the Integrity Checker (RH mouse click menu on the Database root icon in the left hand pane of the DOORS Explorer).
Are there any modules under that folder? If yes, delete these until you're left with the one's that can't be deleted. Make sure that you can see all deleted modules that have not yet been purged (check that the menu item View > Show Deleted Items is checked) - purge all deleted modules. See if you can open any of the modules that can't be deleted.
Report back to this thread on the results of doing the above.
If there are no modules under the folder, then this is starting to look like a database corruption that the Integrity Checker cannot fix and will need the assistance of IBM. That error code is interesting, can you get a screen grab of what you see when you try to delete the folder and attach it to a posting to this forum?
